Factoring Quadratics with the AC Method

  1. Think: What multiplies to make \(a*c\) and adds to make \(b\)?
  2. Split the middle term. i.e. Rewrite \(bx\) using those factors.
  3. Factor by Grouping: Factor out a GCF from the first two terms and a GCF from the second two terms.
  4. Factor out the common parentheses.
